Peter Pots Pottery was founded by Oliver (right) and Elizabeth Greene in while still students at Rhode Island School of Design in 1948, at the birth of the Mid-Century Modern movement. Within a few years they had garnered a national reputation and settled into the historic Glen Rock Mill in West Kingston, Rhode Island, still the studio and showroom of Peter Pots.
Now in its second generation of ownership, Peter Pots continues to handcraft stoneware using the same process we have always used. We make many of the same pieces we did seventy years ago but have added many more over the years, keeping with the same principles of design and functionality.
Most of our pieces have a long history behind them, and those below are especially noteworthy in our 75th year. For more about Peter Pots over the years, see our story here.
